Statement of Beliefs
September 1st, 2009 by adminThe below listed topics express our beliefs and understanding of the Word of God. Some
of the topics are controversial but they are what we believe according to the Word of God.
God
There is only one true God and no other like Him. He is the creator and ruler of all things and is all knowing and present every where. He is the creator of the universe. God is perfect and holy in all ways and with out sin. God is a jealous God who wants us to worship Him and wants to be first in our lives. He always was and always is. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. God The Father Hebrews 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
God the Father
God the Father is ruler and reigns over every living thing. God has control over everything that happens with in the universe and our lives. He is our Father who cares for us and longs to be with us. He is all in all, full of power, love and grace. Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus, Son of God
Jesus is God’s only begotten Son. He is also God in the flesh. God came down to earth in the form of a man born of a virgin, which was prophesied 600 years before His birth, for the purpose of bringing a way for man to escape the effects of sin. Jesus is God in the flesh. Jesus was and always will be the only person that has lived a sinless life. Because He lived a sinless life He was able to become the sacrifice for man’s sins on the cross. After dying on the cross He rose on the third day and then ascended into Heaven. He will be returning soon for His people, His bride. Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Revolation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is not an it. He is another person of the Godhead. He is sent to us as Jesus promised before He was crucified, to comfort us and give us guidance. The Holy Spirit speaks to and through God’s people to share with us the heart and mind of Christ. He is our comforter and consoler. John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The Trinity
The Trinity describes the three persons on the Godhead; The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. They are three separate persons but one in the same. Just like water is liquid, steam and ice but it’s still water. 2 Corinthians 13: 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
The Bible
The Holy Bible is the inspired word of God. God gave many people revelation throw the word of the Holy Spirit and inspired them to write it down for all of mankind to read. The Bible is the plumb line by which we need to run our life by. It is also a love letter to His children. It also reveals the heard and mind of Christ and the message of salvation for all of mankind. The Word of God is God himself. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Bible is our spiritual food and we must eat of it daily. Mt 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Creation
God created the earth and everything in it. Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. He spoke this earth and everything in into existence with creative power. Genesis 1:3-26 He created everything that we see, feel and touch. God is all knowing and is the only one that has the intelligence and power needed to create everything. There is not biblical foundation for the theory of evolution. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Mankind
Man was created by God, in His own image for the purpose of worshiping Him. Man was given freedom of choice and man chose to disobey God brining sin in to the world and separating man from God. Man is born with a sinful nature and needs to a savior to able to have fellowship with God again. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. After Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the garden, mankind became separated from God. Jesus became the bridge for mankind to be reconnected with God.
Christ Resurrected
Jesus is alive and well today. He died on the cross for our sins and rose on the third day and over come sin and hell for us. He is the same today as he was when He was living here on earth. 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Eternal Life
Man was created to live forever. Our spirit man will never die. We die physically and we can die spiritually depending on if we choose to walk with the Lord or walk in the ways of the world. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: We will either live separated from God by sin or with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be separated from God is hell. To be with God is eternal life. Heaven and hell are real places. Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Jesus has the keys and when we choose to accept and walk with Him, we escape hall. It’s man’s choice.
Salvation
Salvation is a free gift from God to all who ask for it. We must repent (turn away from) and ask for forgiveness of our sins. We must be born again meaning born of the spirit of God. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. We must ask Jesus to become the Lord and Savior of our lives. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. Satan and Demons
Satan and demons are real and they are at work to destroy the kingdom of God. Satan was once the most beautiful angel of all and was in charge of worship. He got puffed up in pride and talked a third of the angles in heaven to side with him. Those angles are now demons. God was not going to allow him to take over and his punishment was to get thrown out of the presence of God and out of Heaven. Isaiah 14: 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Satan is mad at God for kicking him out of heaven and will do anything he can to try and hurt God and he uses God’s children and tries to hurt them to hurt God. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Baptism
Baptism is by complete submersion in water in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit symbolizing the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Jesus ask John the Baptist to baptize Him as the example for us. Matthew 3:13-17 This is commanded of us by the Lord as a outward sign of our faith and what the Lord has done on our lives. It is symbolic of our old sinful nature becoming dead, buried and us becoming and new creation in Christ. 2 Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The Church
The church is not the building that we go to on Sunday. It is the body of believers as a whole. We are the church. Every person has a specific function in the body of Christ. We are a large family unit that is working together for the sake of the gospel. It does not matter where we meet but we must always gather together for fellowship, worship and prayer. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Gifts of the Spirit
There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. They are word of wisdom, word of knowledge, gifts of healing, working of miracles, faith, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues. These are listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-10 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: These gifts are given for the purpose of edification, encouragement and teaching the body of Christ.
Prayer
Prayer if the most important aspect of the life of a Christen. It is our life line to God. The Bible says that we must pray without ceasing mean always being in prayer. God wants to communicate with us and us with Him. Pray does not need to be a big elaborate thing. We can talk to God just like we talk with our friends. Prayer is the means for making known to God our needs and desires for ourselves and others. John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 15:16c that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
When we are saved we are given a measure of the Holy Spirit then after that we can ask for an even greater measure of the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? This is an infilling that changes our life and our walk with the Lord. Many speak in tongues when they receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. One does not have to speak in tongues to be saved. The Lord loves us and wants to give this gift to us and it is as simple as asking and expecting to receive it.
Christians Can Have Demons
Man was not born saved so even when they become Christians, they still have the effects of past sin, generational curses, trauma, abuse and soul ties lingering over their heads. Once a person becomes a Christian, they have a way of being able to keep the enemy from attacking them as long as they don’t open the door way to them or yield to any of their lies. Man is a three part being which consists of body soul and spirit. When we become Christians our spirit becomes saved but we still have the soul (mind, will and emotions) to deal with. A Christian cannot be possess ed but can be oppressed by demons (attacked and tormented) For a more detailed look at this topic please follow this link to an in depth article showing that Christians can have demons.
Deliverance and Inner Healing
Deliverance is a much needed and forgotten ministry which deals with helping people get rid of demonic influences in their lives and help them in the area of inner healing from things that happen to them in the past and present, teaching them how to pull down strongholds in their mind and resisting the devil. For more information on strongholds click here. Jesus tells us in His Word that we need to be doing this much needed ministry. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted (inner healing), to preach deliverance to the captives (free from demonic influences), and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (added) Jesus did deliverance and inner healing during His earthly ministry. See article: Christians can have demons
The Office of Prophet and Apostle Exist Today
Many teach that the prophets and apostles died out with the twelve but if one looks closely at scripture, they will come to realize this teaching is wrong because the Apostle Paul was came along way after the first twelve. Paul was commissioned after Jesus’ death and resurrection. See Acts 26:12-20 The Lord gave us these two ministry offices for the purposes of keeping the body of Christ in order and under proper teachings and also for the purpose of preparing the body of Christ to step out into ministry. The Apostles and Prophets are at the top of the list of the ministry offices. They are over seers of the rest of the Five Fold ministry offices. Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Women in Ministry
There are many women in the Bible that were ministers or in ministry in some capacity or another. There are many awesome women of God serving the Lord in ministry today and this will continue to be the case. The teaching that is currently going around that says women cannot be in ministry is false. There are many Biblical examples that prove this teaching wrong. One must look at the context of the scriptures to see what was really being said with an understanding of the customs there were present and that day. God uses women in ministry all the time and that includes all Five Fold ministry offices. In fact it was the women at the well in John 4: 39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did, who was the first women to spread the news of Jesus. It was also women that first proclaimed the raison Lord after His resurrection. See Matt 28:1-8 For a more in depth look at women in the Bible in ministry click here.
The Great Commission
Every person that is a child of God has been called to fulfill the great commission whish is to go and preach the gospel to ever living creature. We all share in this responsibility. The Lord has commanded it and expects us to follow it. Weather or not we are called into the ministry full, we are still commanded to fulfill the commission. Mark 16:15,17,18: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. We are His disciples and as His disciples, we all have been commissioned by God to spread the gospel.
Healing and Miracles
Jesus is still the some person He was during the time He was alive Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. This means healing and miracles still take place today. It is God’s will for us to be healed of all afflictions and He still desires to show us His power by moving in our lives in miraculous ways. He bore the price for the ability to allow us to be healed and set free. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. All we have to do is believe in Him and His ability to do what His Words promise. Mark 16:17a And these signs shall follow them that believe;
